An 8-year-old male admitted with 3-day history of increased thicker secretions and a temperature. Parents and sibling also unwell at home. PMHx: Cerebral palsy GMFCS 5, CLD, scoliosis, PEG fed, dystonia, known to various community services. Extensive drug history. Flu A positive. Now overnight: increasing optiflow requirement, requires frequent nasal suction, large volumes of saliva, audible secretions, nursing staff struggling to clear secretions.

Clinical Data

history: 3/7 unwell, vomiting and high fevers (highest 38), had salbutamol in ambulance and ED

observations

pmhx: CP GMFCS 5, CLD, scoliosis, PEG fed, dystonia

investigations: Flu A positive
